Football in English

On 26 July 2024, we launched an original project: a podcast about football. “But there are thousands of football podcasts — what’s so original about this one?” Well, yes, we did do something original — at least, what we’re trying to do is original. Across the vast ocean of the internet, there are countless sites and media outlets producing content about football. What we’re aiming for, though, is to create a space where the sport is presented in a structured and in-depth way — not just as an athletic phenomenon, but as a social one too; its history and evolution, not only the events but also the underlying causes. Something between a documentary and a chat in a local café — with everything that entails.

Why did we decide to dedicate our time to something like this? Because we wanted to learn more about football, and all we could find were scattered bits of information and the same topics recycled over and over again, from page to page, from country to country, designed to spark a momentary thrill or simply to impress. What we needed was something deeper — and so Futbol was born. In short, we’re not professionals with decades of experience, but apprentice sorcerers. Only, what we learn we share with an audience that we don’t care to be large — only that it shares the same madness and passion for football as we do. We believe we’ll find these kindred spirits who burn with the same footballing fire.

After gathering a good amount of material, we realised that with the help of artificial intelligence, we could translate our ideas into other languages — and in doing so, connect with many more people like us. Like you, reading these lines. If you feel like you belong to this tribe, then all you have to do is follow us.
